Heater controls /button type.

MessageAuthor

hi guys. i have a problem with my beloved celebration which i am SURE some clever so and so will know how to rectify.. what i have is push buuton type controls with a/c. the heating & a/c work fine, its just that when i try to move the direction of the fan to vent, or screen or floor or whatever ... nothing happens. i have a LITTLE venting to the windscreen, and loads the the vents and nothing else!! clearing the w/screen when cold takes ages because of this. i,m told that its a vacuum action that makes the controls move (is this correct?) btw, as i press butons in turn i dont hear any noise like flaps closing etc. it also does not work whether engine running or not.. please please help!!! i will say thank you in advance to cos i know as i said before, someone will know whats wrong!!! allan

RE: Heater controls /button type.

You might check for leaks in the tubes (red, greed, yellow...) that come into your heating control unit. Pressure operated stuff. Note that is the system is not pressurised it wil not move the vanes at all. The system is accessed trough the glove compartment on one side and through the console where the control unit sits on the other side. I hope it is an electricall failure tough. As Clan suggested.
