A number of "Action" requests

MessageAuthor

Hi all, I have a bunch of "Action" requests so that it will be possible to create macros in Reaper in order to replicate the "fade editor" in Pyramix: 1. Playback with pre-roll in seconds (1s, 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s) 2. Stop playback after X seconds; I.E. post-roll (1s, 2,s 3s, 5s, 10s) 3. Stop playback at edit cursor (So Reaper stops after the pre-roll. This is for auditioning the cross-fade "up to the point" of edit) 4. Cross-fade length in ms (30ms, 40ms, 60ms, 100ms, 200ms) I believe these are minimum number of new actions needed to do this. Does anybody know if the Devs have looked into Pyramix's Fade Editor and Source-Destination editing? I've seen threads on the topics here but the are a couple of years old.

I believe most of these are possible, you will need the SWS extension for them which is a single file install from the resources page at top of this forum, they add so many amazing things to reaper, it about doubles it's power :)

Thanks. It's has some good actions for fades, but it doesn't the required actions for auditioning the fade.

I haven't got time today unfortunately but near enough all things like what you have asked for can be done with custom actions / macros but can take an intricate knowledge of some of the things you can do with these commands, I have a idea that you may need to be sneaky with creating an sws based action macro that not only moves the cursor back a few beats but can also create a "action marker" that will stop reaper playing and then delete itself. Sws also has a few fade presets too but it needs a deep look and perusing of the sws threads. I would also recommend making a feature request too as the devs really do put all the useful features in at some point! ;)
