hello -newbie asking for help

Hiya Am new to this forum and as well as saying hello would like to ask for help . I have a S reg S40 and the laquer and the paint on the bonnet has come off . A guy I know will spray it for me and told me to go & get the paint -Wot a laugh- Ive never come across such an unhelpful person in all of my life - I was told where the paint code would be -it was not there - in the end the man came out of the shop and looked himself -he couldnt find it either . I was then told that it could be one of 2 colours but dont know which one - Its a dark blue non metalic car can anyone shed some light please. Have looked on other posts and as far as i can see i dont think its on the vin plate but i dont know exactly what im looking for - there is another set of embossed numbers underneath it but again not sure if this is it. Hello and welcome to the forums. Any car paint factor should have colour charts allowing you to match the colour with the matching colour cards.

the paint code is on the chassis plate a number like 142-2 the three digit part of the number is the one you need .

I dont mean to sound dull but where is that - Is that the same as the vin plate ????? sarahlou:confused::confused:

yes normally its on your vin plate, regards cavey

have a look under general, itll tell you where your colour code is, regards cavey
