footwell lights

MessageAuthor

Hi, Just replaced the footwell bulbs with red LEDs. Nice soft red glow which illuminates the door pocket and floor area. But only when the door is open of course. Anyone know what I would need to do to wire these so they stay on when the ignition is on? Thank you.

Hi, I assume the lights turn off if you turn the engine on?? Likely to be a relay to cut the power once there is power to an ignition component. Be handy to see the wiring diagram for that circuit mind.. :) Des. . . ;)

Thanks Des, Thats right, it turns off when ignition is on. Maybe I could run new wires from the cigarette socket lightbulb?

Hi, If you are going down that path then you'd be as well off fitting a couple of additional, and separate lights units each side for this purpose... On a different circuit with own power supply and own switch... Maybe worth considering.. Des. . . ;)
